Isn’t it true that we all resonate with music on some level? Whether through your own musical talent as an expression, or through your appreciation for it, it soothes, energizes, and it lifts our spirits. Thinking back, there were times I avoided music to avoid ‘feeling’ certain emotions, not realizing I had the power to change an unhealthy emotion to something more desirable. It wasn’t a conscious decision, it was a reaction, yet I was scantily aware that it was an avoidance tactic. For me, there came a point of realization that music has the profound ability to create a healthy emotional balance in the moment, and fill me with inspiration while changing my perspective. Isn’t it empowering to know we can elevate ourselves out of a funk and connect so easily through songs written by the spirited artists who record and share them with us? What a gift!!
Singing along and the louder the better, is one of the most clearing things you can do for yourself. Try it, then notice how much better you feel. If you occasionally do this, see if you can make it a habit. I often get a blank look and a nod of the head when I suggest this to clients, but those who add it into their day report back that it makes such a difference in their day and ability to handle life. The energy exchange of your breath and the sound of your own voice clears what is stuck and keeping you feeling down. Moving your body is an added bonus to rid you of the energetic attachments that have negative effects on your mood and emotions.
There are many ways to clear your energy and this is just one suggestion that is so beautifully effective. So have your favorite music ready to go! Me? So many songs touch me but pretty much every day I listen to ‘The Adventure of a Lifetime’ and ‘Happy’. My soul jumps into excitement at the first beat! Sing your Heart out!!
