Got your attention?  Great!  The bypass I am referring to is not a literal one, but rather, the heart versus the head one.  So often people bypass what their heart wants and make a decision based on the ubiquitous conditioning that’s followed us since birth.  We reason that our decisions are ‘appropriate’, ‘best for everyone’, ‘easily accepted’, and ‘within the norms of expectation’.  I could go on, but you get the picture.

Do you recognize yourself in this?  If so, you likely remember the familiar feeling in your stomach and the dull sense of sadness in your heart that you had in the ‘knowing’ it wasn’t what you wanted.  We have all at one time or another made decisions that weren’t in our best interest.  It’s perfect, because this knowledge points us toward understanding everyone can embrace and foster their own intuition!

You aren’t the same person you were last year or even last week.  People learn, grow and change from the experiences life brings their way.  Take the opportunity to embrace and witness your own heart.  The heart that will never let your down and will always lead you toward love.  You just have to listen and let go of the past.

Try and utilize this exercise in your daily life!  Take a few deep breaths to settle in and get quiet.  Ask yourself something you know is true.  Ask, ‘Is my name ______’?  Place your hand on your heart to feel and listen to what comes.  Acknowledge it.  You can also ask other things you know are true.  Pick something you love.  Examples are:  A favorite ice cream flavour, a color, a place, a person.   Ask:  ‘Is this true?’  Place your hand on your heart again and feel and listen to what comes.  Use this technique when making any type of decision.  Ask if it is true?  Your heart will tell you.  Will you listen?  Are you willing to be in sync with your soul?
